Specializing in Therapeutic Photography for United States Disabled Veterans

Therapeutic photography is the term used for photographic practices in situations where the skills of therapists or counsellors are not needed, yet for a practice to be truly “therapeutic” there should be benefit to the end user in terms of deepening understanding of the self with an aim to reduce inner conflict and enhance coping strategies (Borden, 2000). An extensive description of therapeutic photography includes the application of photography to increase self-knowledge, awareness, well-being, relationships, and to challenge societal issues such as exclusion, isolation, intercultural relations, conflict, social injustice, as well as informing research
