Executive Director PTSD Master of Fine Arts Documentarian / Bachelor of Fine Arts Professional Photographer
Aaron Thomas is a U.S. Navy veteran and served from 1975 to ’81 as a shipboard electrician and electronics technician. After a full career as the founder, CEO, and technology consultant of Computer Dynamics Consulting, he earned his BFA in Studio Art with an emphasis in photography from Texas A&M Commerce, graduating in 2016.
Motivated by his personal life experiences with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), he founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit called Photographically Touching the Soul Deeper (PTSD), amalgamating his varied expertise and interests while providing relief and additional coping skills for PTSD sufferers through the therapeutic creation of visual art. Now an MFA graduate student in Documentary Production and Studies, he seeks to expand his skills to include comprehensive storytelling through filmmaking.
Inspiration
Aaron is inspired by the recognition that the disciplines necessary to be successful in higher education complement clinical therapy efforts, improving mental well-being and quality of life; and he always wants his contribution to humanity to be superior to his reward.
